Journey Health Systems and Deerfield Behavioral Health are looking for a psychiatrist who is responsible to evaluate, monitor, and diagnose patients to determine treatment and recovery plans. Counsel patients, write prescriptions, and monitor patients' progress, while being compassionate and sensitive to their needs and concerns. Work with patients' primary physicians and/or social workers to continue recovery after treatment.

Deerfield Behavioral Health, an affiliate of Journey Health System, provides positive changes in children's and adults' lives. Deerfield employs a full spectrum of clinical experts including Psychiatrists, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs), Physician Assistants, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors and support staff.

We offer a unique blend of diagnostic, therapeutic, and contract behavioral health services, including outpatient mental health therapy for individuals, couples & families, Outpatient D&A abuse treatments, Psychiatric medication management & therapy, Psychiatric contracting services with psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, specialized residences, health centers & skilled nursing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, pre-med, physical sciences, psychology, or related field
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Successful completion of U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX-USA)
  • Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; local state regulations and certifications, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requirements must be met
  • Four-year psychiatric residency
  • Participation in further medical education and professional organization memberships are preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great interpersonal relations, communications, and demeanor

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires an active driver's license and a DMV check that is clear. Position may require travel in the communities served or state of Pennsylvania for position requirements 25-50% of the time.

      • Audit Coordination Collaborates with external auditors and provides necessary documentation for the annual audit.
